Keynote Speakers & Panelists
This session will identify major trends and challenges in world affairs in the field of geopolitics, world economy, political trends, AI and technology, and peacebuilding. There are strong reasons why the world today is seen as heading in the wrong direction, including climate change, hunger, poverty and inequality, information manipulation, the new technological revolution, among others. At the same time, what the world enjoyed for decades—the post-liberal international order—is widely believed to have reached its end and is now entering a period of transition.
What are the key global trends to watch in the years ahead? As the world order undergoes a transition, what should we anticipate from the next world order? And against this backdrop, the international community faces one of the defining questions of our time: How can we shape it into the world we want?—one that recommits to the principles of the U.N. Charter and re-centers development, justice, and humanity at the heart of international affairs.
